Fabric Cutting Methods ---- SUNTECH Fabric Cutting Machine

Once the fabric is ready for production or narrow-width sales, it undergoes cutting. The most commonly used cutting method involves high-speed CM or YM series laser cutting machines. These fabric cutting machines typically utilize a 50mm focusing lens and operate at a normal speed of 5 m/min for single-layer cutting, with a light intensity of 40%. The quality and flatness of the honeycomb bottom plate, as well as the strength of the laser beam, can impact the cloth damage effect. Higher light intensity results in greater thermal radiation and may cause gaps in light and thin fabrics. However, a key challenge in cutting is yellowing, which occurs when smoke generated during the process discolors the fabric. To prevent this, the fabric is laid flat on the honeycomb bottom plate, and an exhaust fan is turned on to remove smoke promptly. An air compressor ensures the continuous blowing of impurity volatiles and soot from the kerf. Alternatively, an inert gas, such as nitrogen, may be used for blowing for optimal results.(fabric cutting machines)
Fabric Cutting Points
1. When cutting delicate fabrics such as non-woven, polyester, silk, satin, twill, and more, it's important to use a 50mm focusing lens with a fine spot and small slit to ensure precise cuts. To further enhance the quality of the incision, external equipment such as air extraction and blowing should be turned on, and the fabric should be securely attached to a honeycomb bottom plate using high-power air blowing from an air pump and compressor.
When cutting larger or smoother portions of the design, a higher speed can be used (between 3-10 m/min for a CM machine), while smaller or more intricate sections should be cut at a slower pace (generally 0.5-3 m/min). The intensity of the laser beam should also be adjusted based on the speed, with higher intensity for faster cutting and lower intensity for slower cutting, usually between 30-60. The value should be set between 5-15% to ensure the size of the light intensity matches when accelerating or decelerating during straight line and curve cutting.
When cutting special fabrics such as white cotton, clean cloth, and fabric containing PC and plastic components, certain process requirements must be met. For white cotton cloth, it's essential to avoid yellowing, while clean cloth should not change color after cutting, and the incision should remain soft.
2. To achieve this, a 50mm focusing mirror, preferably an imported RF laser, should be used to ensure high-quality and stable spots. Ventilation and air blowing should be turned on, and if possible, nitrogen can be used during cutting white cotton. The recommended speed for cutting is 1.5-3 m/min, and the light intensity should be set between 20-30%.
To prevent yellowing and hardening of the incision, a medium speed should be used to match the appropriate light intensity for cutting. When the speed is too fast, the light intensity must be increased, which can cause discoloration or hardening of the incision due to the high-temperature scorching from the large light intensity.
However, it is challenging to meet all these process requirements perfectly with current equipment and technology, especially for thicker white cotton surfaces, where discoloration may occur, and clean cloth may become slightly stiff after cutting.
